It was a mixed Saturday for our leading Yorkshire Coast cricketers, but at least the weather allowed matches to be completed for Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington and Folkton & Flixton.
Boro enjoyed a terrific away victory at Harrogate in Yorkshire Premier North.
Having put the hosts in, Clarke Doughney's men bundled them out for just 151.
Despite Jack Redshaw striking with the third ball of the innings, it was a spectacular collapse for Harrogate from 90/1.
Archie Hammond impressed with 3/14 to mop up the tail, with Doughney grabbing 2/41, Tristin Van Schalkwyk taking 2/48 and Redshaw 1/18.
Van Schalkwyk helped the rot set in for the home side with two run outs.
In reply, Scarborough got home after just 31 overs.
Matthew Turnbull top-scored with an unbeaten 58 from 73 balls as the visitors won by seven wickets.
There was disappointment for Bridlington, in YPN Championship East, however, as they were edged out at Woodhouse Grange.
Batting first, Grange from Sutton-on-Derwent, near York, put on 157 for the first wicket.
However, led by Casey Rudd, with 4/40, the away side battled back as Steve Janney then grabbed 5/40 with Grange bowled out, in exactly 50 overs, for 217.
The same two players then impressed with the bat as Rudd made 43, Janney 40 and Russell Robinson 37. In the end, however, Brid were skittled for 191, in the 48th over, as they lost by 26 runs.
In the same division, there was better news for Folkton & Flixton, who sit fourth in the table.
Hosts Brandesburton chose to bat but will have been quickly regretting that decision.
Elliot Hatton was the star with an incredible 7 for 25 with the ball.
Callum Hatton picked up 2/18 and Zain Maqsood 1/28 as the hosts were bowled out for just 115.
It wasn't plain sailing for the visitors who needed an unbroken 30-run fifth-wicket partnership to see them home, with Hatton at the crease at the end.
Jake Hatton top-scored with 27.
Third-bottom Whitby remain in relegation trouble in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.
Paul Buck's side lost by 95 runs at the Turnbull Ground.
Buck chose to put visitors Normanby Hall in to bat, but may have been regretting the call when they put on 79 for the first wicket.
But the hosts struck back with Ricky Hall and Steve Allen impressing with 4/41 and 3/29 respectively.
Tom Steyert took 2/47 and Kobie Boocock 1/31 as Hall were bowled out for 226 in the penultimate over.
Whitby put on 98 for the second wicket with Joel Lloyd (62) anchoring the innings, but quickly subsided to a 95-run defeat after being dismissed for just 131 in the 33rd over.
