Two of the yachts taking part in the annual Scarborough to Holland North Sea Race have been rescued by lifeboats.
14 yachts set sail from Scarborough on Friday evening for the annual race organised by Scarborough Yacht Club.
At around 4am on Saturday one of the vessels, Jos of Avon, started taking on water and headed for the Humber. The boat was met by Humber lifeboat and towed to Grimsby.
Then at around 7am another yacht, Firebird, suffered a mechanical failure, it is now under tow from the Cromer Lifeboat and en-route to Lowestoft, where it is expected to arrive at around midnight.
The crew on both vessels are said to be safe and well.
