Staff shortages and an increase in staff absence through illness is likely to continue through the winter months.
The shortages mean that Health and Social Care services in the Scarborough Borough are in for a tough Winter.
That's according to North Yorkshire's Director of Health and Adult Services.
Richard Webb says the pressures on the system are relentless.
There's a warning patient care could be affected this winter as NHS nurses are off sick - including for anxiety and depression.
The NHS in England recorded 73-thousand-209 more sick days among nurses and health visitors in May 2021 compared to May 2019.
The Royal College of Nursing says the health service could come under huge pressure if absence rates rise.
