A popular 22-mile sponsored bike ride from Whitby to Scarborough is returning this July to raise funds for The Rainbow Centre, with places strictly limited to just 50 riders.
The Rainbow Centre has announced the return of its popular sponsored bike ride from Whitby to Scarborough, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday the 18th of July 2026.
Following the significant success of last year's event, the Scarborough-based charity has decided to host the fundraiser once again to generate much-needed funds and raise awareness for their cause.
During the previous iteration of the event, participating cyclists successfully raised over £1,500 through sponsorship.
The 22-mile route will see riders pedalling along the old railway line, commonly known as the cinder track. Organisers highlight that the journey offers stunning coastal views as it passes through several picturesque villages, including Hawsker, Robin Hood's Bay, and Ravenscar.
Because last year's ride proved to be incredibly popular with the community, the charity has stated that capacity for the upcoming event will be strictly limited to just 50 riders.
The Rainbow Centre is actively encouraging anyone interested in participating to sign up as soon as possible via their online booking system to avoid missing out on the opportunity.
James Howard, Fundraising Officer for The Rainbow Centre, said:
"This is such a great ride along the coast, with a few good climbs and some epic downhills. We had lots of fun last year and fully expect this year to be just as good. Please come and join us."
