To celebrate it's LGBTQIA+ community, Scarborough Pride begins today for the first pride event in the town for over a decade.
It's set to feature entertainment and activities for the whole family as well as a few famous faces.
Ru Paul's Drag Race star Cheryl Hole will get the event underway and local drag queen Krystal Temple will be hosting on the main stage.
There will also be performances from Hatton's School of Dance, Bizarre Inc's Angie Brown, and Ru Paul's Drag Race UK contestant Michael Marouli.
George Wakely is trustee of Scarborough Pride.
The parade, which is Scarborough Pride's first, is sponsored by Scarborough based McCain Foods and is set to start outside the Brunswick Centre at 11am before heading along Westborough, Newborough and Eastborough before heading to the Scarborough Spa along Foreshore Road.
Once the parade has arrived at the Spa, the main Scarborough Pride event will begin at the Spa, which is free of charge.
George says that the event has had some amazing support from local businesses.
There will also be a well-being area, sponsored by Serenity Guest House, that will be available for visitors to relax in.
