Dom Tear's two first-half goals were enough for Scarborough Athletic to take the Dave Holland Trophy at Bridlington, on Saturday.
Tear struck twice just before the interval to take the trophy named after Boro's former chairman.
Seadogs manager Jono Greening gave his reaction to SAFC TV after the final whistle:
There are two divisions between these sides but Bridlington Town out in a determined performance to challenge their higher-ranked opponents.
Their boss, Aidy Costello told Brid Town TV he was happy with his side's efforts:
Next up for Boro, on Tuesday, is a friendly trip to another NPL East side in Tadcaster Albion.
On the same night, Brid take on Goole of the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
