The Seadogs put in a top performance against the league leaders to climb back into the playoffs.
It was an electric game at a misty Scarborough Sports Village, in front of nearly 2,500 fans, including over 700 from Scunthorpe.

Scarborough took the game to Scunthorpe, who went into the fixture having won 6 and drawn 2 in their 8 league games so far this season.
Boro opened the scoring in the 18th minute. A long ball from Weledji found the impressive Harry Green who crossed first time and Dom Tear stroked it in the back of the net on the volley from close range.

The 2nd half was even more entertaining with end to end football and a number of chances for Scunthorpe and one glorious chance for Scarborough when Bennett should have made it two.

Boro held out for the 3 points and a place back in a playoff spot, ahead of 3 away games in succession, including the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round visit to Warrington Rylands next weekend.
It was a hard fought victory which delighted Scarborough Manager Jono Greening, who spoke to Paddy after the game:
