East Riding Leisure Bridlington will see the first phase of a full gym refurbishment in early May but some of the kit will be arriving a little later than planned.
By the end of June, all the existing equipment is due to be replaced, and will include Assault Elite Air Bikes (for the first time at an East Riding Leisure Centre), New Matrix Strength kit and 26 new Matrix Spin Bikes.
Some of the new equipment for the gym has been delayed in shipment following the recent problems in the Suez Canal, so in the initial phase of the refurbishment, the new resistance equipment will be installed alongside the existing cardiovascular equipment. This will then be replaced when the new equipment arrives in the country.
The initial installation is planned to start on Monday, 10 May, and is hoped to be completed by Monday, 17 May. All being well, the remaining new cardiovascular equipment will be installed by the end of June.
Adam Mainprize, senior facility manager, said:
“Although East Riding Leisure Bridlington is already a modern – and hugely popular – facility, it’s vital that we stay completely up to date with state of the art equipment, so that we can provide the very best service for our customers.
“I am delighted that we are able to upgrade the gym equipment, and we also look forward to the next phase of our reopening from 17 May, with more indoor classes and more leisure activities, if all goes according to plan with the government roadmap.”
The current gym at East Riding Leisure Bridlington is temporarily based in the sports hall, so will remain open during the early stage of the refurbishment.
