Stay away from resting seals is the message from the Yorkshire Seal Group.
The Yorkshire Seal Group says they've had a busy summer working to keep the Yorkshire Coast's Seals safe.
The team of volunteers work to make sure human visitors to the coast don't disturb seals resting on the shoreline.
Clair is one of the groups volunteers - she says education is the key.
The group's volunteers have spent the summer talking to people visiting the coast and spreading the message that a seal on a beach is usually just having a rest and shouldn't be disturbed.
Clair says they help people to learn about seals and help them get pictures from a safe distance.
The Yorkshire Seal Group is a team of passionate volunteers who are committed to helping protect and preserve native and iconic Grey and Common Seal populations. They use citizen science protocols to collect data on coastal visitor demographics, seal populations, movements, breeding success and mitigating both existing and emerging threats and work with a variety of stakeholders and marine user groups to advocate responsible seal watching and best practice, promoting wider environmental stewardship through our positive public engagement, schools education workshops and beach cleaning activities.
