Police officers have been out and about conducting speed checks in Lebberston, Cayton and Flixton.
It happened on Friday and North Yorkshire Police officers released the following statement:
'We had the pleasure of educating and discussing excessive speed with three members of the public who were slightly over the limit. It was discussed how even being slightly over can have a big affect on stopping distances and putting the public at risk.
'However, one driver was caught at 37mph in a 30mph zone. This driver has been issued a traffic offence report and will be prosecuted for the excess speed.
'We have been attending these locations after discussions with the local community who have highlighted them as areas they believe drivers speed excessively.
'We will continue to conduct these checks when possible in a variety of locations.
'Thank you for your ongoing support.'
