North Yorkshire County Council says that means many reports are now very out of date.
Assistant Director of Education Amanda Newbold says the council is using it's school improvement service to work with schools affected to ensure they are maintaining their high standards:
In the Scarborough & Whitby constituency area, 78.9 per cent of primary schools are judged good or outstanding by Ofsted, which is below the North Yorkshire and national averages. In terms of secondary schools, 57.1 per cent are judged good or outstanding, which is also lower than the North Yorkshire and national averages. There are 12 schools currently judged requires improvement or inadequate in the Scarborough & Whitby constituency.

Schools which were deemed to be outstanding in inspections carried out between 2012 and 2020 were then exempt from further regular inspections.
Rebecca Taylor from North Yorkshire's school improvement programme says the lack if inspections has become an issue:
OFSTED have said all schools will now receive an inspection in the next three years.
