Snow and ice have lead to long tailbacks on the A171 as a number of vehicles become stuck.
Callers to This is The Coast report long tailbacks on the A171 between Scarborough and Whitby.
It appears a number of vehicles have either become stuck or collided.
This caller described the situation at around 10:15 this morning.

Coastliner say they will be unable to run services into Whitby today as a result of the weather:
"Due to heavy snow around Whitby, Coastliner 840 is unable to run to Whitby.
The buses will only be running to Thornton-le-Dale until further notice.
We apologise for any inconvenience."
