Medics from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) are appealing for sightings of a heavily entangled seal.
The BDMLR say that over the weekend Marine Mammal Medics scrambled to find a heavily entangled seal seen in the Bridlington & Fraisethorpe area.
They say that the young pup has a variety of different ropes on him, which will cause severe injury to him as he grows.
The BDMLR Medics say:
"If anyone spots this seal in the region (or any others they are concerned about)! Then please call us on 01825 765546.
If you do spot the seal, please don't attempt to catch it or restrain it. It can cause further harm and distress, as well as the seal may flee back in to the water.
Stay at a safe distance keeping everyone well clear until medics arrive. Thank you!"
