The Seadogs left it late to beat 10-man Brackley Town in a game Boro controlled from start to finish.
Scarborough gave home debuts to on-loan Jack Waldron and new signing Michael Woods.
The game, watched by 942 supporters at a chilly Scarborough Sports Village, started with drama and a 4th-minute sending off of Brackley's Jason Donawa for a two-footed challenge on Alex Wiles.
Boro controlled posession and created chances with Richie Bennett grazing the Brackley post with a close-range header.
Scarborough took the lead midway through the first half after a shot from Kieran Weledji deflected in from close range.
Seadogs fans will have been feeling comfortable at half time but within 60 seconds of the restart Brackley were level through sub Morgan Roberts.
Scarborough had a number of opportunites including a couple of shots from Luca Colville which tested the Brackley goalkeeper, as Boro regained control of the game.
As the match approached injury time, there was a clash of heads and Brackley's Matt Lowe was stretchered off.
When the game finally restarted, after an 8-minute delay, Boro went straight back at it and were rewarded as the clock hit 100 minutes.
Alex Brown collected the ball from a clever Alfie King header, with Brown rifling home to secure Boro's first win in the league since Marine away in October.
