A Scarborough women's group is raising funds to buy toilets for women and girls in the developing world.
The Scarborough branch of the Soroptimist International club are taking part in a toilet twinning project.
Angela Edwards is from the group and says the sums of money involved are not that big.
The Scarborough Soroptimist Club support projects that Empower, Educate and Enable women and children at home and all over the world, using Action, Advocacy and Awareness.
Angela Edwards says they felt it important to join the toilet twinning project to provide toilets to women in developing countries.
Anyone can twin their toilet through the Toilet Twinning project at https://www.toilettwinning.org/ the organisation says:
"When you twin, we’ll send you a certificate to hang in your loo – showing a photograph of your overseas toilet twin and GPS coordinates so you can look up your twin’s location on Google Maps!"
