Lewis Maloney scored from the spot to give Scarborough Athletic a place in the 4th qualifying round for only the 2nd time.
Boro beat National League North rivals Darlington 2-1 and in doing so secured their first away win all season.
Scarborough took the lead just before half time when a Lewis Maloney cross was nodded in by Frank Mulhern.
Darlington equalised with just 15 minutes of the game left, Hatfield scoring from the penalty spot.
But on 87 minutes, Scarborough took the lead once more from a Lewis Maloney penalty.
Scarborough Athletic TV caught up with Boro boss Jono Greening after the full-time whistle:
Scarborough are now in the draw for the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for only the 2nd time since the club was formed in 2007.
The old club famously progressed to the 4th Round proper, facing Chelsea back in 2004.
Scarborough could face a National League team in the next round, potentially York City, Hartlepool or Halifax Town.
