The Scarborough Remarkable Rock Choir is set to electrify the Queen Street Methodist Hall tonight with a night of rock anthems and classic Christmas rock songs.
Led by director Mark Howley, the 100+ strong choir will be accompanied by a live band of professional musicians, promising an evening of soaring harmonies, epic guitar solos, and a festive finale.
The event, organised by Remarkable Arts, a community-focused music organization, aims to raise funds for their music therapy work and specialized music programs for young people in the region.
Mark says that Remarkable Arts has a 12-year history of providing music-related services, including adult classes, one-on-one tuition, and work with schools and older adults.
Tonight's concert takes place at Queen Street Methodist Hall at 7:30pm and will be performed by a choir of over 100 local performers.
The choir boasts a diverse membership, with people of all ages, genders, and professions coming together to share their love of rock music. Mark highlighted the inclusive nature of the choir, noting that it appeals to a younger demographic compared to traditional choirs.

The concert will also showcase the talents of local musicians, including lead guitarist Curtis Papath, a rising star who began working with Remarkable Arts at a young age.
The event will act as a fundraiser for Remarkable Arts with the money being used to fund their activities in local schools.
Mark says one of the lasting impacts of the choir is the pathway it has provided for local people to develop careers in music and the performing arts.
Tonight's concert take place in the Queen Street Methodist Hall which Mark thinks is one Scarborough's hidden gems.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £11, with free entry for those aged 16 and under.
Doors open at 7:30 pm, and while over 200 tickets have already been sold, attendees can also purchase tickets at the door.
