The volunteer team at the charity's shop have reason to celebrate.
For the first time in its long history, the shop at Scarborough lifeboat house notched up more sales than any other RNLI shop in the country in January.
The RNLI has over 120 shops at lifeboat stations around the UK.
Shop Manager Michael Turner is one of about a dozen volunteers who run the shop. He said
“At the back end of last year we were in third place,”
The photo was taken outside the shop just before the volunteers strolled up the West Pier for a delayed Christmas lunch at the Lookout on the Pier cafe.
The shop is open from 11am-3pm Monday-Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday in winter.
