After 28 years service PC Graham Bilton 'Billo' retires from North Yorkshire Police today.
Graham initially joined Humberside Police on the 25th November 1996 serving there until 15th July 2001. He then joined North Yorkshire Police where his last day of service is today.
Graham has spent most of his service working from Eastfield Police Station as a Beat Manager covering the Scarborough Rural communities.
Colleagues from the local station said:
"Graham is a wildlife crime officer and has always pursued wildlife crime offences with professionalism and diligence. He has been the Officer in Case for a number of offences including the dolphin disturbance, snake abandonment, and an owl entrapment.
Some of these and other incidents resulted in Graham receiving Chief Constable's commendations: following the successful prosecution for Dolphin Disturbance, saving the life of a male in Forge Valley Woods and the first successful prosecution of offences against great crested newts.
Graham has also focused a lot of attention on illegal off-road biking and road related offences, particularly along the A170.
We wish Graham all the best in his retirement!"
