Scarborough Lions say 152 brave souls took part in the annual fundraiser.
The New Year's Day tradition saw 152 people take a dip in the North Sea whiile raising money for charity. The event was organised by Scarborough Lions who had also been fundraising throughout December with their Santa Sleigh tour.
The Scarborough Lions say:
"Overall the club has raised a fantastic £6777.49. You kept our lions treasurer very busy counting the money.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to us. We also had a lot of help from our supporters, friends of Lions, and other partner groups and organisations.
Every penny and pound we raise helps the local community."
The club has more fundraising plans for 2025 and is encouraging new members to get involved:
"As a small club we have big ambitions, and a desire to make a difference to people's lives, and to support our community. We are all volunteers from all walks of life with different experiences and careers.
We are in the 65th year since the club was formed. Join us in 2025 to continue the altruistic spirit of Lions. If you can spare a few hours per month and want to learn new skills.
We welcome visitors to our meetings and events to see what we do."
