Scarborough continued their good form but there was frustration and disappointed for Folkton and Flixton, Whitby and Bridlington.
Pat Roberts' Scarborough side enjoyed an 89-run victory over Driffield. The two sides fought out a last-ball thriller earlier in the season, but this was much more comfortable. At North Marine Road, Roberts' men were asked to bat first, opener Oliver Stephenson made 47, with Ben Elvidge (58) and James Wainman (42) adding 58 for the fourth wicket. The hosts eventually posted 213/9 from their 50 overs. They then came out and grabbed wickets at regular intervals, thanks to opening bowlers Wainman (3/51) and Jack Holt (5/40). The visitors were skittled in the 28th over for just 124 all out. The win made up for the lost points suffered after Yorkshire Academy withdrew from Yorkshire Premier North.
Folkton and Flixton's York & District Premier promotion hopes suffered a big blow when Beverley thumped them by nine wickets. A slow start saw the villagers floundering on 100/5, but a 96-run partnership between Will Norman (54) and Max Harland (52) helped them to a competitive 232/9 from their 50 overs. However, Beverley's batsmen were in imperious form, they put on 164 for the first wicket, with Callum Hatton picking up the visitors' only scalp. Beverley reached their target, with eight overs to spare.
In Division One East, Bridlington batted first against Cottingham, posting a useful 201 all out from their full 50 overs. The away side were 96/2 at one point, but subsided to 136/8, but clung on to their final wicket, to bat out their overs, some 40 runs short, to take a losing draw. Casey Rudd starred for Brid with the ball, taking 4 for 35.
In North Yorkshire South Durham Division One, Whitby had to do the scrapping, against leaders Stockton. Batting first, the County Durham side amassed an imposing 243/7- Fin Morris, Tom Steyert and Steve Allen- took two wickets each. Whitby's reply was anchored by Paul Buck, who made 67, with Joe Padmore adding 42. They managed to bat out their 50 overs but fell 61 runs short on 183/8.
