The organisers of the Scarborough Lights event are looking for ideas and volunteers.
Here's artistic director, Julian Caddy.
He explained what's needed for this year's event:
" I'm looking for particularly local people, artists technicians and people who have got a curiosity for that sort of thing to be able to put together some proposals for illuminations and installations. That could also be ticketed events of all sorts, anywhere. At all within Scarborough.
That's the brief."
Julian says the next step is around funding:
" We'll also later on be putting out community bursaries in the same way that we've been doing for other fair events. So there'd be smaller scale things as well. But this one is a it's an opportunity for people to have the ideas that they have and see what we can do to try and make it come to life really.
We did this last year as well, and we had some lovely ideas and so we're doing it again and we'll see what happens."
Scarborough Lights, which has illuminations across Scarborough, takes place between 14th November and 21st December 2025.
