Scarborough and Folkton and Flixton found themselves on the losing end in Saturday's cricket but there were big wins for Bridlington and Whitby.
Pat Roberts' Scarborough found themselves floundering at 23 for 3 after winning the toss and batting first, at North Marine Road, on Saturday.
They recovered later with Roberts himself making 37 alongside half-centurion Pete Rinke as the hosts posted 200 all out, in the Yorkshire Premier League North.
The visitors then struggled early on as James Wainman took two early wickets and Bridge staggered to 59 for 4. But Fletcher Coutts' unbeaten 66 and Ameya Joshi's 43 saw the visitors reach their target midway through the 46th over, with four wickets in hand.
In the York and District Premier, Folkton and Flixton also batted first and also had problems early on after slipping to 26 for 2. Will Norman, coming in at seven, turned the tide with a fine 66 not out. He added an unbeaten 49 with Connor Stephenson as the villagers posted 221 for 8 from their 50 overs.
Opponents Sessay found the immaculate surface very much to their liking in reply. Despite Will Hutchinson's well-executed run out and two wickets for Tom Norman, the visitors reached their target with seven wickets in hand and more than 10 overs remaining.
Bridlington had another comfortable win in Division One East. Woodhouse Grange Seconds chose to bat first at Duke Park but slumped but from 107 for 3 to 149 all out as Casey Rudd picked up for 4 for 25 and Steve Janney took 3 for 18. Brid then sped to their target with 22 overs remaining as the impressive Rudd made an unbeaten 78 from 78 balls.
Whitby also impressed, in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One. They had two centurions- in-form Finn Morris (102) and Paul Buck (119 not out)- as they posted 281 for 5. Skipper Kai Morris even took the opportunity to declare with two overs left. Their Esk Valley opponents were stubborn but eventually found themselves bowled out for 139- Ricky Hall took 3 for 18 and Kobie Boocock 3 for 30.
All our local sides are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday.
