Scarborough CC are now in the Yorkshire Premier North's bottom two after rivals Beverley leapfrogged them.
It was a tense 27-run rain-affected defeat on Saturday.
After putting their hosts in, at Norwood Park, Beverley struck 231/6 from their 50 overs.
Matthew Turnbull was the pick of the Boro bowlers with 4 for 49 with Corey Hart taking 2/63.
Heavy showers cut the visitors' reply down to a revised 143 from 35 overs.
They got to 115/4 from their 35, despite a determined 57 not out from opener Robert Pinder.
It means Beverley go eight points clear of Boro, who face already-relegated bottom side Malton & Old Malton on Monday.
Folkton & Flixton are bidding to move up into that league, but suffered a blow to their YPN Championship East promotion ambitions.
Also facing a revised target, the villagers ended up just 19 runs short.
The league leaders won the toss and chose to bat first and posted 202/9 from their 50 overs.
Charlie Colley took 5/50 and there were two wickets each for Elliot Hatton and Zain Maqsood.
Despite a solid 45-run opening stand, the visitors then lost wickets at regular intervals.
Opener Will Hutchinson was run out for 39 and despite Connor Stephenson, Hatton and Maqsood all passing 20, Folkton & Flixton found themselves bowled out for 183, with eight balls of their innings remaining.
They stay fourth, eight points behind third-placed Hull Zingari going into Monday's matches.
Another tight defeat, saw Bridlington beaten, in the same division.
Brid stay sixth after visitors Welton won the toss and chose to bat first.
They posted an imposing 270/7, from their 50 overs, despite Ricky Robinson's 3/59. There were two wickets for Russell Robinson and one each for Casey Rudd and Steve Janney.
Will Norman (87) and Freddie Gunning (42) put on 87 for the second wicket and with Brid 105/1, they had every chance of over-hauling their opponents.
However, the hosts fell 21 runs short, at least ensuring they weren't bowled out as they fought to 249/9 from 50 overs.
Whitby lost out to North Yorkshire South Durham Division One leaders Marton, to stay in relegation trouble.
The table-toppers won the toss at the Turnbull Ground and chose to bat, giving Whitby's bowlers a torrid time.
Steve Allen took 3/68 and Ricky Hall grabbed the other scalp as Marton posted 288/4 from 50 overs.
In reply, Whitby struggled to 14/2 early on, but will have been buoyed by a 52-run stand between Joel Lloyd and Theo Clarke, with Clarke, who top-scored with 69, then putting on 73 for the fourth wicket with Kai Morris (40).
Sadly that was as good as it got for Whitby who slipped from 139/3 to 186 all out, losing by 102 runs, with 11 overs to spare.
The defeat also took Whitby into the division's bottom two, they are now 12 points from safety.
