While the Eat Out to Help Out campaign has persuaded people back to pubs and restaurants, a new problem has emerged, that of no-shows. One Scarborough tech company might have the answer.
Coronavirus has impacted many businesses all across the UK but none have been hit harder than the hospitality industry. The Eat Out to Help Out campaign has been a rare shining light over the last few months but a new problem has emerged, that of no-shows.
Restaurants and bars are running at reduced capacities so each table is, in reality, is worth way more than the table spend on the evening.
Now Scarborough based Askew Brook, who have already created a test and trace platform, RecordCustomer.com, are looking for restaurants and bars to pilot their latest product.
BookAt.uk allows bars and restaurants to take deposits for bookings directly in an effort to reduce the impact of no-shows and hopefully dissuade them.
Managing Director Richard Askew said
“We have been inundated with businesses asking how they can take deposits, but it isn’t straight-forward so us making something to do it for them was the next logical step. There are lots of platforms that you could use but they can take large fees, but people can’t afford to lose such a large proportion of their profit at the moment”.
“We would love people who might be interested in this to sign-up at BookAt.uk or email me directly richard@askewbrook.com”.
