The team behind the community fridge initiative have been working to ensure they can operate within the new national lockdown rules.
Today they will be trialling a new take away service from the front of the Street building on Lower Clark Street in Scarborough
Vicki Wright is one of the organisers and explains what they do.
Today's trial will be open from 10:30am until either Midday or when they run out of food.
They are asking that only one person from each household attends, that they wear a face-covering and observe social distancing guidelines.
The team say no-one will be allowed to enter the building and there will be markings on the pavement to help with social distancing.
They will be handing out pre-packed bags of food at the external glass doors of the Front Room area of the the Street Building.
Vicki says if it goes well today then they will look to extend the service.
