It's the first of four free opportunities for local residents to visit Scarborough Castle today.
The Big Ideas by the Sea Festival is on show with performers, Morris dancers, a headland history tour and a mini dig taking place throughout the day.
The festival brings guest speakers to talk all about the issues with our environment, climate change and history.
Mark Williamson - Cluster Manager for English Heritage - said that this afternoon is the perfect opportunity for local people to come up and visit the castle.
Mark Williamson says that there is plenty for visitors to get involved with today.
Today's event is the first of four other events that are taking place throughout the summer months:
Sunday 11th and 18th June - The Great Big Green Week
Saturday 9th September - Headland History tours
Free entry for people with a Y011,YO12 and Y013 postcodes with proof address required before entry.
