Scarborough Care Group Chairman Recognised For Decades Of Advocacy

A social care leader with more than thirty-five years of experience has been named as one of the United Kingdom's most influential figures in the care home sector.

National recognition for social care advocacy has been awarded to a prominent care group chairman.

Mike Padgham, who serves as the Executive Chairman of Saint Cecilia's Care Group, has secured a place on the prestigious Care Home Professional Power List 2026.

The annual index, which is produced in association with Radar Healthcare, celebrates the most influential leaders operating within the United Kingdom's care home sector. Inclusion on the list serves to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to social care while demonstrating exceptional leadership in the drive to improve care services across the country.

A sustainable and effective social care system has been the primary focus of Mr Padgham's campaigning efforts throughout a career spanning more than thirty-five years. Over the course of three and a half decades of dedicated service, he has established himself as one of social care's most respected voices.

The interests of those who rely on care services, as well as the staff and providers who deliver them, have been consistently championed by the executive chairman. He has been described as a tireless advocate for care providers, residents, and the wider social care community.

This advocacy work has been channelled through his longstanding involvement with several key industry bodies. Alongside his leadership at Saint Cecilia's Care Group, his influence extends through active participation in the Independent Care Group, the Homecare Association, and the Care Association Alliance.

An unwavering commitment to promoting high-quality care and driving positive change across the sector is reflected in his inclusion in the 2026 Power List, according to representatives from Saint Cecilia's Care Group. The organisation has publicly extended its congratulations to Mr Padgham for what it describes as a well-deserved achievement, thanking him for his continued leadership and dedication on behalf of the entire social care sector.

Responding to his inclusion on the national list, Mike Padgham said:

"I am very honoured to have been recognised. However, I am only doing my job and my work is not done yet. I will carry on campaigning for as long as I can to achieve a better system for the public, staff and providers."
