The latest seven day COVID infection rate data for North Yorkshire shows that the Scarborough borough has it's lowest rate of new infections since the end of November.
The latest data for the seven days up to January 22nd shows the borough had an infection rate of 123 cases for every 100,000 people. The last time the figure was that low was on November 30th.
It's also the lowest rate in North Yorkshire although there are concerns that this is because the new variant of the disease which has become dominant in the west of the county has yet to have the same impact along the coast.
The average rate across the county now stands at 222 case per 100,000 people, the all England average is 382.
