Scarborough Beach has 126 hashtags per square metre of sand according to research by LuxuryHotel.com.
The result was calculated by camparing the amount of hashtags 'Scarborough Beach' got, which was 158,532, along with the length of the beach, which they deemed to be around a mile in length.
Topping the list was Kynance Cove in Cornwall. It received less hashtags than Scarborough at 54,847 but has only 200m of beach, giving it a score of 272 hashtags per square metre.
Scarborough was the only north of England beach to feature in the top 10.
