Scarborough Athletic Make First Round of FA Cup

Scarborough Athletic are in the first round of the FA Cup for the first time ever.

Boro were victorious in Tuesday nights 4th Qualifying Round replay at Oxford City.

They will now play League Two side Forest Green Rovers at the Flamingo Land Stadium in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Boro took the lead in the 24th minute with goal line scramble ending in a goal for Kieran Weledji

Scarborough then increased their lead in the 47th minute of the first half

Boro maintained their solid performance for much of the second half but a mad 90 seconds saw Oxford score twice to level the score at 2-2

Boro didn't give up and in the first minute of added time Lewis Maloney put Scarborough back in the lead.

The win nets Boro £9,375 in prize money and that first round match against Forest Green Rovers. The first round proper fixtures will be held between Friday 3 and Monday 6 November, with winning clubs at this stage picking up £41,000 from the competition's prize fund.

After the game an emotional club chairman - Trevor Bull - gave Paddy his reaction to the win.

Boro Manager Jono Greening told Paddy he is delighted with the result.
