The big fella will be arriving by boat in to Scarborough on Saturday. Paddy is there for This is the Coast.
In an event that traditionally marks the start of the Christmas season in Scarborough, Santa Claus will be arriving in to the town's harbour on Saturday before heading off to open his grotto at the town's Boyes department store.
The traditional arrival event didn't take place last year due to COVID restrictions. This year's welcome return will see Santa arrive by boat at midday on Saturday.
Ahead of his arrival The Hunmanby Brass band will be playing Christmas Carols at Boyes store on Queen street from 11am before Santa's sleigh accompanied by the cast from the YMCA theatre head down to the harbour to pick up Santa.
At the harbour itself the Scarborough Sixth Form band will be entertaining the crowds from 11am along with This is The Coast's Paddy @ Breakfast.
Once Santa has docked at midday he will climb aboard his sleigh and embark on a parade up Eastborough, St.Thomas Street, Castle
Road and back down to Boyes on Queen Street to open his Grotto.
Chris Goulder is the store manager at Boyes on Queen Street, he's been talking to Paddy about the event.
