An initiative to help tackle crime in rural parts of North Yorkshire is making a real difference according to North Yorkshire Police.
Rural Watch uses WhatsApp groups to connect police offers and PCSOs with members of the public in rural locations.
Chief Inspector Alex Butterfield says the project has grown over the last two years:
One thousand members of the public are now actively involved in the Rural Watch scheme.
The project sees 25 rural watch groups across the county liaising with police officers and PCSOs on a daily basis.
