Seafront Traders in Scarborough say Armed Forces Day was one of the best trading days of the year.
We may never know exactly how many people came to Scarborough's National Armed Forces Day event, but the borough council says there are plenty of indicators to show just how big it was for the town.
The council's Portfolio Holder for Quality of Life - Councillor Jim Grieve - says the event was a big success.
It's thought over 100,000 people attended the national event in Scarborough on June 25th which saw the Red Arrows perform for 20 minutes at lunchtime, a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, displays from the Royal Navy Helicopters and an RAF Typhoon.
Speaking at a meeting of Scarborough Borough Council yesterday - The first to be held in the council chamber for two years - council leader Steve Siddons praised the work done by everyone involved in staging the event.
