Reptile Rescue Centre Opens in Scarborough

Scarborough now has it's first ever reptile rescue centre.

The new facility on Victoria road opened yesterday.

"Lilly's Reptile Rescue" has been set up by local man Dave Bigsby, he says there has been an increase in the number of abandoned reptiles in the area over the last few years.

A Scarborough man has opened a reptile rescue centre in the town.

Dave Bigsby rescued his first snake three years ago, since then he says the number of abandoned reptiles in the are has increased significantly.

He's now launched the rescue centre to try and re-home some of the creatures.

Dave says the rescue centre venture isn't cheap to operate and needs support from the public and local businesses.

There is more information about the rescue centre on their Facebook page at
