A further 268 people were diagnosed with coronavirus across Hull and East Yorkshire on Friday, with a very slight drop in the virus' R rate.
The Government’s latest rolling figures, updated on Friday, show the number of infections recorded across the region was 1,244 in the East Riding in the seven days up to Sunday, February 20, the latest with weekly data available.
A total of 31,933 new coronavirus cases were recorded nationally on Friday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 18,804,765, with 120 new deaths recorded, making a total of 161,224.
The figures come as the National Audit Office (NAO) said the vaccine rollout was good value for money after saving 128,000 lives for a cost of £8.3bn.
It also comes as coronavirus’ estimated reproduction (R) rate is between 0.7 and one compared to the previous week’s of between 0.8 and one.

Government data up to Thursday, February 24 shows that in the UK, 139,698,351 jabs have been given so far, 52,606,239 first doses, 48,953,594 second doses and 38,138,518 boosters.

East Riding: First dose 283,968 (90.3 per cent), second dose 270,879 (86.1 per cent), booster 228,280 (72.6 per cent)
