The Sheffield band will also be playing in Scarborough in the summer.
PULP will be opening their UK & Ireland Reunion tour, at Bridlington Spa on Friday 26 May 2023.
The group have scheduled a ten date tour which will also see them play Scarborough's Open Air Theatre on July 9th.
Lead singer Jarvis Cocker said:
“Three months ago, we asked, What exactly do you do for an encore?”
“Well…An encore happens when the crowd makes enough noise to bring the band back to the stage
So…We are playing in the UK & Ireland in 2023
Therefore…Come along & make some noise
See you there”
The group haven't performed any large concerts since 2012. The 2023 tour will see them reform for the first time in a decade .
Speculation about a tour first emerged In July 2022 and after a cryptic Instagram post, Cocker announced that the band would reunite for a series of concerts in 2023.
Pulp first formed in 1978 and are best know for their hits Common People and Disco 2000.
Bridlington Spa General Manager Mark Lonsdale said
“This promises to be a truly special occasion to see a historic band reunited and perform live for the first time in over 10 years. We're delighted that Bridlington Spa will host the opening night before the band embark on a national tour.”
Bridlington Spa says it has a small allocation of tickets for the concert with more tickets available from other ticket agents.
Tickets for both the Bridlington and Scarborough concerts will go on sale on November 4th.
