Police officers in Scarborough say they have seen an increase in theft and damage in parts of Scarborough.
North Yorkshire Police say they have seen a number of high-value thefts and criminal damage in the Seamer Road area of Scarborough in the last month.
Officers say:
"Whilst extensive investigate actions continue we are asking members of our community to be vigilant and protect your properties as best as possible.
Here are a few simple tips which could have a great impact in reducing crime-
- Ensure all windows and doors are secure/locked
- Ensure all CCTV cameras are working and recording
- Keep valuable items out of sight
- If you have exterior lights ensure they work correctly.
- Consider use of alarms fitted onto your property.
