Officers say motorists should avoid the A165 in this area and further closures are in place.
Due to the heavy rainfall, Police are currently advising road users to avoid the A165 between Gristhorpe and Cayton Bay where possible.
There are likely to be other roads affected, they say, so please take care and adjust your speed accordingly.
In addition, the A165, Main Street is currently closed Eastbound from the Carnaby roundabout joining A614 and A165 due to flooding.
There is also substantial standing water on the B1261 at Killerby. Police say they strongly advise seeking an alternative route. Highways will be assisting with diversions.
There is a diversion in place through Bessingby for road users travelling Westbound.
Humberside Police say please avoid the area if possible.
It comes as a yellow Met Office rain warning is in place for the Yorkshire Coast for much of the weekend.
