Officers searching for missing Whitby man, 48-year-old Peter Coleman, have very sadly found a body near to the area where Peter was last sighted.
Police say, although formal identification is yet to take place, Peter’s family have been informed and are being supported.
The family would like to thank everyone who has offered support and helped with the search. They have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very upsetting time.
Peter has not been since 12.30pm, on Wednesday, near some woods close to Aislaby.
Specialist search teams have conducted vast searches of the wooded areas and of the River Esk from Staithes to Ruswarp.
