Visitors are being welcomed back to the North York Moors national park this Easter weekend but are asked to plan ahead to ensure social distancing is maintained.
The North York Moors National Park have updated their website to guide people to visit less used areas over the Easter weekend.
The park reopened to visitors on Monday, Chief Exec Tom Hind says with a four day bank holiday weekend upon us they want to ensure social distancing is maintained.
Visitors are being encouraged to explore lesser know areas of the park to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distancing.
CEO Tom Hind says they have added new information about quieter locations to their website.
Tom says the influx of visitors will be a concern for residents of the national parks and for local farmers whose sheep are in the middle of lambing season. He's asking visitors to be mindful of others and to ensure dogs are kept under control.
The National park advise that most indoor facilities will be closed, except for toilets and essential retail e.g farm shops.
Their guide to visiting and information on quieter areas of the park can be found at https://www.northyorkmoors.org.uk/coronavirus-covid-19/ideas-on-where-to-go
