Scarborough, Whitby and Filey stay in Tier 2 COVID restrictions after the Government review. Bridlington remains in Tier 3.
The Health Secretary made the announcement in the House of Commons this morning.
the Government had committed to review the tier status of areas in England every two weeks. Today was the first time that process has taken place.
While a number of counties in the South of England have been moved from tier 2 to tier 3, Yorkshire has been left untouched.
That means the East Riding remains in Tier 3 and the whole of North Yorkshire remains in Tier 2.
However the latest seven day infection rate numbers for North Yorkshire show increase across the county.
The Scarborough Borough continues to have the highest infection rate in North Yorkshire with 189 cases per 100,000 people, up from 175 yesterday. That's above the overall average for the county which stands at 108 but below the all England average of 217.
