Information about some sex offenders in North Yorkshire wasn't being properly recorded by North Yorkshire Police.
North Yorkshire Police says changes have been made to the way it records information about sex offenders after an inspection revealed some data wasn't being made available to local police officers.
Assistant Chief Constable - Lindsay Butterfield - explains what the inspection discovered.
The national inspection found that while the information was being entered into a national system used by specialist officers, it wasn't always being added to a local system, available to all local officers.
Assistant Chief Constable - Lindsay Butterfield - says steps have been taken to put right the problems.
