Council figures have been discussing parking machines in the East Riding.
Councillor Richard Meredith, a Conservative member, criticised the government's current plans:
Councillor Meredith said ministers should be lobbied to provide a cash option.
The authority's Acting Director of Streetscene Services is Carl Skelton.
He says there are a number of ideas on the table, but they won't happen quickly:
