Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team assisted the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in the rescue.
The nine year old boy had fallen some 12′ off a rock feature at Bridestones in Dalby Forest on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team carried the boy from the scene of the accident to the waiting Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter.
The volunteer rescue team say they had twenty team members and three team vehicles either on scene or travelling to the scene in anticipation of a potential protracted carry out. The duration of the call out was two hours.
