A new group is launching in Filey, aiming to bring women together for stimulating conversation, lasting friendships, and a range of social events.
The Filey & District NWR group is part of the National Women's Register (NWR), a national membership charity combatting social isolation by connecting women over 55.
The group's primary goal is to give local women an opportunity to connect, engage in meaningful discussions, and form lasting friendships. This aligns with the NWR's overall mission to combat social isolation by connecting women for conversation, exercise, and social events.
The Filey & District NWR will offer:
- Stimulating Conversations: Lively discussions on various topics, from current events to personal passions.
- New Friendships: Opportunities to build relationships with local women who share similar interests and values.
- Social Events: A range of activities beyond regular meetings, such as outings and speaker events.
Claire Kendrick, Head of Operations for NWR, expressed excitement about bringing an NWR group to Filey. She emphasised the group's role in providing a welcoming and supportive space for women to connect and engage in thoughtful discussions.

NWR has been connecting women for over 60 years and are now focused on creating personal connections in a digital world”

The NWR also offers a thriving online community with activities like virtual coffee mornings, book clubs, fitness and art classes, and expert speakers. This allows members to connect with women across the UK and participate from the comfort of their homes.
