North Yorkshire Police is to change the way some of it's officers are deployed in an effort to reduce the amount of time it takes to respond to rural incidents.
Police response times in rural parts of North Yorkshire are to be boosted with the use of a new "forward deployment" scheme.
The Police force is working with partners to identify locations where it can base it's response teams to reduce the time it takes to get to rural incidents.
Assistant Chief Constable - Catherine Clarke - says it's part of a drive to ensure over 80 percent of urgent rural incidents are attended within 20 minutes.
Although the force aims to attend 80 percent of urgent rural incidents within 20 minutes, it currently only manages 77 percent.
Assistant Chief Constable - Catherine Clarke - says they are making a number of changes to improve that figure.
