Nick Gough has qualified as a mechanic for Scarborough's Shannon class lifeboat.
After countless hours of intensive training, a Scarborough RNLI crew member has qualified as a mechanic and lifeboat officer.
Nick Gough was passed out during Tuesday’s training exercise by RNLI machinery assessor and trainer Ben McGarry
Ben spent a couple of hours assessing Nick on various drills including several electrical faults and emergency operating procedures.
Nick is now a fully qualified mechanic on the Shannon all-weather offshore lifeboat. He is a member of both the inshore and offshore lifeboat crews.
