A new holiday park operator, Unity Holidays, has been launched with the acquisition of Skirlington Holiday Park on the Yorkshire Coast.
The company is backed by substantial multi-million pound investment from the City.
Unity Holidays is headed up by two industry veterans:
- Mark Seaton will serve as CEO. Seaton has decades of experience in the holiday park industry. He began his career under the mentorship of his father, Robert Seaton, who was a key early executive with the founders of Bourne Leisure and Haven Holidays. Seaton has owned and managed multiple parks, most recently as Managing Director of the Cove UK Park group.
- Dermot King joins Unity Holidays as COO. He was a key player at Bourne Leisure for over 30 years, where he oversaw the group's financial planning and the modernisation of Butlin's. Until recently, King was COO and a substantial investor in the Oakman Inns Group.
Skirlington Holiday Park is one of two initial acquisitions for the group. The other is Holiday Resort Unity on the Somerset coast, formerly known as Brean holiday park.
Unity Holidays says it aims to challenge the traditional holiday park model by putting holiday homeowners at the centre of its business. The company plans to build a community-driven environment and provide exceptional service.
Substantial reinvestment in Skirlington Holiday Park will begin this winter. Longer term, Unity Holidays is looking to grow its portfolio and expand along the Yorkshire Coast, provided it can find the right properties.
Emphasising their focus on innovation, Mark Seaton said:
“We will look at a different way of putting our owners first and we can’t wait to showcase the way a Unity Holidays owner will be treated.”
Dermot King said:
“We are going to challenge the way things are normally done - putting our holiday homeowners first in everything we do. They are our key focus and we will be building our core values and proposition around them.
“Mark and I have looked at the wider industry and we have a fresh vision. Unity Holidays aims to redefine the holiday park experience by placing holiday homeowners at the centre of its business model. The company plans to deliver exceptional service and create a community-driven environment, reshaping the traditional perceptions of UK holiday parks.”
Mark Seaton added:
“With two flagship locations, Unity Holidays is poised to set new standards. This launch signals a promising new chapter for holiday homeowners and guests alike, as Unity Holidays begins its journey to redefine excellence in the holiday park industry.”
