A New Mower and Quadraplay at Snainton Village Hall has helped improve the quality of the villages football pitch.
Snainton Village Hall purchased new mowing and ground improvement equipment using a substantial grant from the Football Association and further grants from Sirius Minerals Foundation and Two Ridings Community Foundation.
The Village Hall team say the kit is already improving the quality of the playing area.

Malcolm Maw who has been the groundsman for many years and a long standing supporter of cricket in the Yorkshire area commented,
“Since the purchase of the new equipment the football pitch has seen an improvement with the quality of playing surface, with the pitch being easier to maintain giving a flatter and more even surface.
The quality of grass has also improved meaning better grass coverage.
Although the equipment has been predominantly used during the winter months for the football pitch the cricket outfield is now starting to see the same improvements.”
Lorna Bruce, secretary of Snainton Football Club also commented,
“The new mower does not leave cut grass on the pitch and the quadraplay is improving the playing surface giving a better pitch and shorter grass.
The condition of the pitch has contributed to a safer playing area leading to a reduction in the number of injuries this season and the changing rooms are easier to clean with less mud and debris!!!!
Our pitch is considered to be one of the best in the area and the playing conditions are making it easier to attract new players.”
The Trustees have expressed their thanks to the Football Association, Sirius Minerals Foundation and Two Ridings Community Foundation for the generous support they have given to the project.
